Formed in 1991 as the Tap Dance Club and now with the Tap Academy in Santa Monica, The Bert Chan Dancers Senior Tap Group is dedicated to keeping the American art form of Tap Dancing alive. All are seniors who are enjoying their later years and found that Tap Dancing provides the exercise and fun so important at this stage of their lives. They have performed at many westside senior centers, convalescent homes, and the Los Angeles County Fair. Two highlight performances were for the UCLA Medical Center Luncheon at the Four Seasons Hotel and the Film Welfare League Luncheon of the Peninsula Hotel. From all walks of life and with varied careers, they have one thing in common - the desire to dance together for many more years.
